While having a "regular" sweeping company clean your lot is fine, they
usually only get rid of the big stuff, cans, cups, cigarette butts etc.
But most will not remove the tiny rocks and sand that will act as an abrasive
when driven across by traffic.
Of course sand must be added to seal-coating to provide traction for your
customers so they won’t slip and fall as well as increasing the life of the
sealcoating, however the normal wear on the seal-coating combined with the added
abrasion from the tiny rock & sand from surface deposits can break this sand
loose from the sealer.
At that point it can become an abrasive too and may act in combination with the
other fine particles to increase the total premature wear of your sealcoating.
